Triangular-shaped teeth, a sequela of periodontitis and gum recession, their main causes. Sometimes, physiology and aesthetics do not go hand in hand.<\/p>\n
This is what happens with the embrasures (black triangles between teeth) that, whether we like it or not, have to exist.<\/p>\n
The spaces between teeth are usually covered by the gingival papilla (part of the gum), but in some cases these spaces called embrasures may appear.<\/p>\n
Normally, they are visible in the lower jaw, depending on the characteristics of the gum and the shape of the teeth, although sometimes they are not noticeable when they are dirty with calculus.<\/p>\n
The aesthetic problem appears when they are too obvious, which happens especially in adults.<\/p>\n
There are three main reasons why triangular interdental spaces appear:

The crowding of the teeth means that, on occasion, the embrasures are not visible.<\/p>\n
But after orthodontic treatment, they become visible.

They may become visible as the disease progresses or after treatment.

Diastemas, which are small spaces between the teeth due to the separation between them.<\/p>\n

There are several options:

Laminates.<\/p>\n
Whether they are composite or ceramic, they cannot always completely cover the embrasures.<\/p>\n
It will depend on its size.<\/p>\n
If they are very wide and the teeth are separated, the design of the laminates would be too abrupt to eliminate the gaps, with the harm that this can have on the hygiene and health of the gums.<\/p>\n
In addition, sometimes it is more aesthetic to leave some space between teeth and for them to have a more natural shape, not excessively rectangular.

Stripping and closing of spaces.<\/p>\n
